10th Annual Dr. Segro Memorial Race

On October 12th, the 10th Annual Dr. Segro Memorial Race took place at the Red Lion Area Junior High School.  The weather cleared up and it was a great day for a race!

The Junior High Show Choir got things started by singing the National Anthem.

Moments later, it was time to start the 5k race.  Dr. Mike McGough, Associate Professor at York College and a former colleague of Dr. Segro's, gave the opening remarks and started the race for this years runners (he also joined the runners after his remarks!).

After the 5k race began, it was time to let the Fun Run runners begin!
Less than 20 minutes after the race began, the runners began crossing the finish line.

Members of the Junior High Cross Country team made a great showing at the race!
Senior Graeme N. not only ran in the race, but he ran in the race carrying an extra 45 Pounds in his backpack to help raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.  Way to go!
Overall, the race was a great success.  Fun was had by all--runners and spectators alike!
